Kapilari darah yang membawa darah de-oksigen (darah dengan oksigen yang ciput) mempunyai dinding yang sangat tipis, membolehkan gas oksigen masuk dengan selambe badak, untuk menyamakan 'masuk dan keluar' (in and out) kepekatan oksigen di luar alveoli dan paru-paru.
Prosesnya adalah seperti berikut:
* Hidung kembang anda tarik nafas ---> udara dan segala benda bagai, masuk ke dalam paru-paru dengan bantuan diafragma ---> Jantung mengepam darah membolehkan proses pertukaran gas berlaku dengan cepat, dibantu oleh 'alveoli' yang terdapat di dalam paru-paru ---> Ulang *
